RCA
RCA first established a recording studio in Trinidad at the St. James Theatre in Port of Spain in the late 30s and issued calypso releases on the Bluebird label.
In 1957, Leslie “Lucky” Samaroo obtained a license to issue RCA recordings in Trinidad, established a pressing plant, and recorded local music. He would later establish the Tropico label. More information can be found in Andreas Vingaard’s interview with Samaroo on othersounds.com.
