Sa Gomes

Eduardo Sa Gomes was instrumental in recording local calypsonians in Trinidad in the 1930s up until the 50s (he died in 1955).

Sa Gomes sold a variety of goods at his “Sa Gomes Radio Emporiums” including gramophones, radios, and imported records. He partnered with Brunswick-ARC to record Lion and Atilla in 1934, and had several other recording ventures after that with Decca, the New York label Continental, and his own Kiskedee label before establishing Sa Gomes which would go on to release 180 records.
