Notes | Arr. & Prod. by Dave La Barrie & Art Carroll. Recorded at Sun Sound Studios. Engineer: Steve Schectar. Damla Records, a division of Cribbean Prod. Unltd. 64 St. James Place, Brooklyn, NY 11238. La Barrie arranged for Solo Harmonites & Nutrine Playboys in Trinidad in the late 1960s. After coming to NY in 1971 he helped organize Panmasters around 1972. They came out for Carnival on Eastern Parkway from 1973 through 1975 and won Brooklyn Panorama in 1973 with his arrangement of Sparrow's "My Connie." Panmasters split into several bands including NY Hamonites and Sillouettes in late 1974, but before the break around 10 players from the group recorded these sides. The recordings were issued by La Barrie himself on his own Damla label (Dave M. La Barrie). |
